There have been many fashion events this year, and I think the following are trends that were seen across the board in all fashion shows.
- 70's style is back: Whether you like it or not, it's true. I have a seperate post on 70's fashion and you can read it here
- Prints: This spring continues the trend of prints. Go for bright and bold prints, whether it's tiger, leopard or floral print, if you've got prints... wear them!
- Think longer: Forget minis and knee length skirts and dresses, longer hemlines are in this season. Skirts and dresses that fall just below the knee or are calve length are very classy and elegant.
- Loungewear: The catwalks this season have been full of pyjama inspired clothing. Items like nightgown dresses and loose, casual trousers with matching tops. This look is kind of hard to pull off, but don't knock it 'til you try it!
- Minimalistic Minimilism: Another trend for 2011 is minimalism. Minimalist clothes should be simple and less complicated, that means no fussy patterns and frills. Think smart yet futuristic clothing in colours such as white neutrals and blacks.
- Intense colour: With every new season, comes a new colour palette, and this season is no different! 2011 brings bold, stand-outish colours, my next post will include this years "on trend" colours.
